Mitate

見立て
Mitate

"To bring out another nature of a thing which is not related with the original use, and to create its new value."

We all have various aspects, and depends on the person who we talk with,
we can change our face, words, or even eyes. It's natural.
What is of significance is to try to see his or her essence, their true nature.
Perhaps they hide it in front of you, or they even don't know their own hidden charm.
So we should open our eyes and open our heart in order to see their invisible nature. That's a way to love someone.

京都の細部

What is the color?
Is the shape circle, triangle or square?
Is it vertical or horizontal?
How about shadows?
Does the light come from the west or east?

Focus on more detail in Kyoto.

借景
Shakkei

周囲の風景、主に山や樹木を、背景として庭の一要素とすること。

"Shakkei" (Borrowed Scenery) is Japanese traditional way to design a garden.
It makes use of surrounding landscapes such as a distant mountain or trees as a background to complete a view of a garden.

向こうに見える山は比叡山。
ここはビルや電柱に遮られない、純粋な借景を残す稀少な場所。

The mountain you see over there is Mount-Hiei.
Here is one of few places where remains pure Shakkei,
which is not obscured by any electric cables or high buildings.

龍安寺
Ryoanji Temple

心を開くと小さな宇宙が見える。

Smell the sweet incense.
Listen to the whisper of leaves.
Touch the warmness from the sun light.
Close your eyes, and open.
Then you can see the little universe.
